Tea and Murder: Why Not!

Another project that we have come to love is my tea room that I started just over three years ago - The Old Capitol Tea Room. It has evolved over the last few years and we have finally found our niche. We now primarily host private teas AND open themed teas that have quickly become a tremendous hit! We have hosted princess teas, murder mystery teas, Mary Poppin's teas, Downton Abbey teas, Jane Austin teas, White Christmas teas...and the list goes on and on! Our most recent tea was a Harry Potter Birthday Tea! SO much fun! We have wonderful actor friends who help us with our many tears when needed. And, Jeff and I are always in the mix and participating, of courser. One of our most popular teas is our murder mystery teas. They can have various themes as well. Our mm tea was inspired by the popular board game, Clue. We affectionally called this one, The Not-A-Clue Murder Mystery Tea. :) These murder mystery teas have grown in popularity over the last couple of years to the point that once we make the announcement of an upcoming mystery, tickets become as hot as a steeping cup of Earl Grey.

We will be posting more on the various teas that we host in the near future. We have such fun and those that join us get into the spirit of the theme as well!

Ethnic Foods are the Spice of Life

When it comes to food, you have to have an open mind, as well as an open mouth. We have experienced so many wonderful ethnic foods in the last few years. Louisville is a tremendous "foodie" town. Should you ever be in the "River City", you will find no shortage of some of the best food that you can sample in the entire country. It's that good.

We have sampled just about every ethic restaurant there is in Louisville and we will be talking up some of the best. SO, stay turned for various restaurant reviews from the Louisville area and ALL across the country!

Hats. Hats. Hats. Need We Say More?

I (Carrie) developed a love affair with hats from watching classic films like Breakfast at Tiffany's and Gone With The Wind. And, the fact that I grew up in Derby City, Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby, it was only natural that this love blossom. I have an extensive collection of hats. And, I do mean EXTENSIVE. So much so, that we had to relegate one of our bedrooms to a boudoir in order to display and keep many of the bigger hats from getting damaged. I literally have HUNDREDS of hates. I will be posting on these hats as time goes along talking about the various styles and era in which they are from. SO looking forward to discussing my love of HATS!! :)
