If our count is accurate, this was our 7th visit to Savannah. Honestly, as many books as Carrie has read on the “Hostess City of the South”, she could absolutely be a tour guide. No question. There are very few places we have not explored in Savannah. One such place, The American Prohibition Museum, is one that we were dumbfounded as to how we let this one slip by us, unnoticed.

This is really a great museum! I’m not sure how we just now discovered it on this trip, but we’re glad we corrected that oversight.

The cost is only $17 per person to explore, but you can add a drink voucher to that and get access and a drink for just $25 each. The bar is well worth the added cost.

The displays, video features and ambiance are all top notch! You could easily spend a couple of hours here and feel like you more than got your money’s worth.

Some of our Friday fun in Savannah.

I’m pretty sure I have walked over ten miles in this city thus far. 😁

After breakfast at the Eliza Thompson house we've been taking strolls around Forsyth Park. It's such a beautiful park for scenery and people watching. Savannah is a walking city so take your time and enjoy the views with 21 squares to explore, you can see something different every time.

My favorite Street for seeing beautiful squares is along Bull Street. It is the center of the historic district and has some of my favorite stops along the way. I'm a huge book lover so no stop to Savannah is complete without stopping in E Shaver Bookseller and The Book Lady. I could spend hours in the wonderfully cozy nooks and crannies of these two bookstores looking for my next read. Combine a bookstore stop with a visit to Gallery Espresso and I'm a happy camper. Gallery Espresso is a great spot on Bull just off of gorgeous Chippewa Square where you can grab some coffee, sandwich, desserts, and even a glass of wine. Perfect for people watching, doing some work, reading, and checking out some local artwork on the walls by SCAD students.

We walked down to City Market and along the River Walk and then found ourselves stopping in to see the beautiful and historic Cathedral of St John The Baptist. We have taken many a photo of the exterior of this ornate church on previous visits, but have never had a chance to tour the inside, until this day. What a beautiful House of God.

It’s always good to say hello again to our old friend, Savannah. We visit Savannah almost yearly we love it so much and have visited numerous times over the past 10 years. Back in 2018, we spent New Years Eve here and absolutely loved it. After missing out the last two years, we decided there was no where we'd rather be than back in Savannah.

Driving thru GA was not a lot of fun, but we made it before the sun set on our Thursday evening and enjoyed walking this historic city, then grabbing dinner at 1790.

The Eliza Thompson House is always our home away from home when we visit this great city. They always welcome us back with open arms (and a bottle of Prosecco). 🥰

Stay tuned for more pictures and adventures from

Savannah!
