The Twenties Are on Their Way...Again!

Updated: Aug 2, 2019

With the end of the 2019, we will evolve once again into a decade of the "Twenties". Now, for some this does not have much significance. We get it. But, for those of us who relish the days of F. Scott Fitzgerald and his book, The Great Gatsby, the next ten years are going to be a chance to recapture some of the finer points of the "Roaring Twenties". Two of those being music and fashion. I have developed a very worthy collection of vintage dresses (some flapper) from the 1920s through 1940s. Included in that are several flapper dresses. I am a huge fan of F. Scott Fitzgerald and especially The Great Gatsby. The love story of Scott and Zelda is also very unique and inspiring. We visited the Fitzgerald's home in Montgomery, AL a couple of years ago, which has become The Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald Musem. If you are a fan of Scott or Zelda, I highly recommend a visit. By the way, the dress I wore to the museum is a true vintage flapper dress from the 1920s.

This year we embarked on a little music project that I now so very much enjoy - The Tin Pan Alley Cats! Now, this first started with the hope of putting together a full swing/jazz band. However, finding musicians that have an interest in that genre of music, especially my taste in that music, proved difficult to find. SO, we decided to take this little venture, put it on our backs and carry it ourselves! We are now playing out in various little venues across Louisville as The Tin Pan Alley Cats! We will be be posting our calendar of dates soon! We hope some will come enjoy our offerings of swing, jazz and standards that we have put together! Videos coming soon as well!
