After leaving the panhandle of Florida, we drove around the Gulf Coast to set up camp at Hillsborough River State Park for several nights. Hillsborough is just about 30 miles northeast of Tampa. After the long drive and camp set, we headed over to Robert K Rees Memorial Park in New Port Richey.
This little park is really quite a gem on the Gulf. It’s not a great swimming area, but it is in a beautiful setting. It’s more of a park for bird-watching and exploring the shallows of the Gulf waters.
We got there right before sundown in the “Golden Hour”, which is ideal for photography. These are just some of the great photos we got as the sun set on the Gulf.
