The Not So Long Trailer Goes to Florida - Part 1

We are SO behind on photos from our camping trip to Florida! We pack a lot into each day, so getting the photos edited and uploaded sometimes takes a back seat to fun. 😁

One of our favorite Florida coastal towns is Apalachicola. It has a great “old Florida” vibe, which we really like. Lots of great shops to explore as well. We may or may not have brought home the octopus. (Who am I kidding, he had a name before we left the store - Inky.) 😜🤣

There are several other great towns up and down the coastline in that part of the panhandle. Carrabelle for one has a great retro beach area and a couple of great seafood places. Panacea also has some great food! I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but we ate at Angelo’s Seafood in Panacea twice on this trip. We couldn’t help it. We pack enough food to feed a family of four for a month and then we eat out. 🤷‍♀️🤣

We had to really dodge the storms on this trip. I know, I know, it rains in Florida daily in the summer. That’s a given. But, these were like torrential rains! Our campsite got flooded twice in Ochlockonee River State Park. They were kind enough to let us move after the second time to a concrete padded site. (Tip for those camping in Florida in the summer, get a site with a concrete pad. You will be thankful you did.)

We spent three nights in Sopchoppy at Ochlockonee River. We love this park! Florida parks, in general, are some of the best and most award winning parks in the country.

(Also, I may have brought a mermaid tail along with me in case the mood would strike me. AND, it did.)🤣

Next up, we head around the coastline to Hillsborough River State Park in Thonotosassa, which is just about 30 miles northeast of Tampa-St Pete.
